You will never experience the thrill of a bungee jump if not done at Bloukrans in South Africa. One, two, bungee! Leaping off the Bloukrans Bridge, you plunge 216 metres into the gorge below. For adrenalin rushes, you don’t get much better than a Bloukrans bungee jump, which also happens to be located in one of the most scenic corners of the country.
The 216-metre Bloukrans Bridge is the highest commercial bungee jump from a bridge in the world and attracts adventure-seekers from all over. The bridge is found along the scenic Garden Route and has to count as one of the most spectacular bungee jumps in South Africa, if not the world.
This slick, ultra-professional bungee operation is run by Face Adrenalin, a member of the Southern Africa Tourism Association (SATSA). These specialists in bungee in South Africa puts safety first with all equipment conforming to international standards and highly trained and experienced staff ensure that you get the jump of a lifetime.
Bloukrans is situated close to Plettenberg Bay.
In a world’s first, the Cango Wildlife Ranch in Oudtshoorn is offering a extreme wildlife activity: crocodile cage-diving!
You will have heard of shark cage-diving and this idea of course borrows much from that. With crocodile cage-diving you are lowered into a clear water pool into a bite-proof cage and into the company of 4m long Nile crocodiles each with a bite pressure of over 2 tonnes per square inch. That's four times the amount of pressure that a Great White shark can exert.
The cages are specially built to withstand the incredible pressure of these ancient reptiles and visitors are exposed to an up-close-and personal view of them in their natural habitat that few people will ever have experienced before without ending their existence entirely!
Participants are kitted out with goggles and a snorkle and then secured in the specially-designed cage. To add to the experience, an underwater photograph is taken of you while you are surrounded by the repitles.
The concept is the brainchild of Cango Ranch MD Andrew Eriksen. Based on the same principle as shark cage-diving, the main difference is that these crocodiles seem to see man as their natural prey. More humans are killed by crocodiles in Africa than by lions! As a result the experience is extraordinarily intense as the crocodiles are very interested, while sharks don't always take an interest in cage-divers.
As a result crocodile cage diving is NOT for the faint-hearted, but it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience something unique and tell a story no-one back home is likely to top.
You can bring your own swimming gear but swimwear, goggles and snorkels are provided. Photo footage documenting your encounter is an optional paid extra and presented to you in a photo folder for your 'Guess-what-I-did' memoirs. Site amenities include nice showers (for humans only no crocodiles are exposed to indoor plumbing for purposes of conservation).
Available to visitors 14 years and Older! Children between the ages of 8 to 13 must be accompanied by a parent / legal guardian .This dive is a world first and had attracted people from across the globe. Submerged in water face -to-face with our giant nile crocodile allows you to view crocodile like you have never seen them before. Please note. The croc-cage diving will be closed during some of the winter months -
